Hey lovely people !
Hope all had a great weekend ! I had planned for one but the rain forced me indoors. Even my Internet connection let me down.
Bored by how rain had made me stay indoors on a weekend I was clearing out my room which was for a long time in my TO-DO list .
But what I got out of that was a ‘Quilling Kit’ from Fevicol’s Hobby Ideas(Yay!!). The one I purchased when I was enthusiastic about crafts. I usually get some kits and do my first project in crafts, if I like and find it to be in my skill basket I explore more.
Quilling was one such thing and here is what you need to start Quilling on your own.
1. Quilling Strips
2. Quilling Tool
3. Quilling Board
4. Craft Glue
Step 1: Take the Quilling Strip and the Quilling Tool. Pass the strip through the Tool.
Step 2: Wind the Quilling strips neatly.
Step 3 :Holding the coil lightly so that it doesnt unwind immediately place them in the Quilling board. The Quilling board is of varies size circle, you need to place them in the required size.Step 4 : Place the strip in the Quilling Board
Step 4 : Allow the Quilling strip to unwind in Quilling board.
Step 5 : Stick the ends with the craft glue.
Step 6 : Take out the Quilled coil and make designs as required. For eg. Press both the ends to make a Marquise shape.
Step 7 : Repeat these steps according to your designs and stick them together
Step 8 : Now place it where ever you like.
1. Never stick the quilling strip ends when in the tool, I did that and the strips never unwound.
2. Be careful while removing the Quilling tool from the strips after placing it in the quilling board. At times the designs are spoiled.
3.Be mindful while choosing the sizes in the Quilling board, so that you don’t end up getting varies kinds of shapes.
4.Also while allowing the Quilling strips to unwind in the Board,it sometimes falls outside the board there by makes our design look monstrous.
5.If you have not stuck the ends or designs properly they happen to fall off, you need to handle it with care.
If you have mastered the art , here is an extra tip for exploring more.
Incase you need to have multiple colours in your creations. Then in that case
1. Stick the quilling strips together and them roll them in the Quilling tool.
Please note ,the colour you need in the centre will be the one you first roll.
I simply followed the instructions in the kit. I too had lots of disasters but finally I had created something which I can proudly show off.
